Car delivery service
Door-to-door collection and hand-over across the UK
Bought or sold a car, moving dealer stock, or booking work at a detailer or repairer? We collect and deliver everyday cars as well as specialist vehicles across the UK. Tell us both addresses for a free quote.
Door-to-door is the operational standard for every ICM shipment. We collect from any mainland UK address — private garage, residence, dealer compound, marque-specialist workshop — and deliver to any destination, whether that is a UK residence, a Monte-Carlo apartment garage, a Marbella villa, a Mallorca marina or a factory service bay in Maranello. No depots, no terminals, no driving to collect.

What door-to-door means at ICM
Door-to-door is not a tier on the menu at ICM. It is the way every shipment runs. The transporter arrives at the address you nominate at the UK end, the vehicle is collected, it travels inside a sealed, covered trailer, customs are cleared on your behalf where the move is international, and the trailer arrives at the address you nominate at the destination end. You are not asked to drive the car to a depot, to wait at a terminal, to collect from a port or to handle the first or last leg yourself.
That stands in deliberate contrast to roll-on roll-off ferry services, depot-to-depot trade movements and terminal-to-terminal container logistics, all of which push the first and last leg back onto the client. It also stands in contrast to the high-volume car-movement industry, where the “door-to-door” label is occasionally applied to a depot collection within 30 miles of the address. Ours is literal: the address you give us is the address the trailer arrives at, and the address you nominate at the destination is where the keys change hands.
The service rides on top of our enclosed car transport — soft-strap loading, GPS-tracked, sealed trailer, photographic inspection at both ends. Door-to-door is the delivery model; enclosed is the trailer specification. The two are bundled by default.

Where we deliver to
Six categories cover the majority of our door-to-door work. If your destination is not on the list, it is almost certainly within scope — request a quote and we will confirm.
UK addresses
Private garages, family residences, country estates, marque-specialist workshops, detailing studios, concours preparation units and secure storage facilities. Mainland Scotland, England and Wales all serviced from our Greater Manchester base.
European residences
Apartments in Monte-Carlo, villas in Saint-Tropez, hillside houses above Cannes, finca residences in Mallorca, summer homes on the Italian Riviera and Costa del Sol residences in Marbella, Sotogrande and Puerto Banús.
Marinas and ports
Yacht arrival points at Port Hercule, Port Adriano, Puerto Portals, Marina di Portofino and Pampelonne. Where a vehicle needs to meet a vessel, the trailer arrives at the quayside and not the gate of the port.
Hotels and short stays
Hotel forecourts, valet bays and concierge collection points across the Mediterranean and the UK — the Carlton on the Croisette, the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, Marbella Club, Forte Village in Sardinia and equivalents.
Factory service bays
Maranello for Ferrari Classiche, Sant'Agata Bolognese for Lamborghini Polo Storico, Stuttgart for Porsche Classic, Newport Pagnell and Gaydon for Aston Martin Works. Cars delivered direct into the factory service bay, not the visitor car park.
Concours, auctions and events
Goodwood Revival paddocks, Villa d'Este lakeside lawns, Pebble Beach show field staging, Salon Privé entry points, auction venues, Monaco Historic Grand Prix paddocks.
How a door-to-door delivery runs
Six stages, every shipment. International moves add the customs stage; UK domestic moves skip it. The rest is identical.
- Step 01
Quote and brief
You provide the vehicle, the collection address and the delivery address — down to the gate code, the parking-bay number or the residence concierge name where relevant. We confirm access, agree any restricted-window arrangements and return a written quote, normally the same day.
- Step 02
Co-ordination and confirmation
On acceptance we agree the collection window, the planned route and the target arrival window at the destination. Where the destination has its own constraints — a ZTL zone in Florence, a narrow residential street in Cannes, a marina security gate — we plan around them at this stage, not on arrival.
- Step 03
Collection and pre-shipment inspection
The transporter arrives at the address you nominated — private garage, residence driveway, workshop forecourt, dealer compound. Pre-shipment inspection is completed before the vehicle is touched: every panel photographed, wheels and interior recorded, fuel and indicated mileage logged, any existing marks noted and signed off.
- Step 04
Enclosed transit
The vehicle travels inside a sealed, covered trailer with soft-strap loading, GPS tracking and a named driver on the file. Door-to-door delivery rides on top of our enclosed haulage as standard — see our enclosed car transport service for the trailer detail.
- Step 05
Customs (where international)
Our in-house team lodges the export declaration on the UK side and instructs the broker on the EU or US side. T1 transit, import declaration and onward release are handled without involving you. The cleared paperwork comes to the transporter, not to you.
- Step 06
Handover at the destination address
Delivery to the address you nominated — residence, hotel, villa, marina, factory bay, concours field. A handover inspection mirroring the UK record, photographs, the cleared customs release where applicable, and the full pack emailed the same day. You sign, the keys change hands, the trailer leaves.
Where standard handover does not fit
Most door-to-door deliveries are simple: the trailer arrives, the inspection is completed, the keys change hands, the trailer leaves. A meaningful minority are not, and they are the scenarios where the operational standard matters most. Each of these is co-ordinated at quote stage rather than left to the driver to resolve on arrival.

Concierge handover
Where the client is not at the destination on the agreed day, we hand the vehicle over to a nominated representative — a concierge, a household manager, a personal assistant or a marque-specialist contact named ahead of arrival. The handover inspection is completed with them, photographed and emailed to you the same day.
Hotel and residence handover
Hand-over at a hotel forecourt or valet bay on the Croisette, the Promenade des Anglais, Puerto Banús or Marbella Club. Hand-over at a private residence — the garage of a Monte-Carlo apartment, a Saint-Tropez villa, a Mallorca finca, a Forte dei Marmi summer house — co-ordinated with the household ahead of the day.
Gated communities and secure compounds
Sotogrande, La Zagaleta, Country Club Las Brisas, Cap d'Antibes private estates, the gated terraces above Cannes. The driver carries access codes, security clearance details and the named contact at the gate. No turning up unannounced.
Narrow-street and restricted-access delivery
Florence ZTL zone, Venice islands (where road access permits), narrow streets in Cannes Vieux Port, the old town of Saint-Tropez, the upper terraces of Monte-Carlo. Where a full-size trailer cannot reach the address, we co-ordinate a transfer onto a low-loader or single-vehicle short-hop vehicle for the final approach.
Out-of-hours handover
Early-morning arrival before a flight in, late-evening hand-over after dinner, weekend delivery against a Monday work schedule. Co-ordinated at quote stage and confirmed the day before — the driver does not arrive at 7am without you knowing.

What we tell you upfront
Before the trailer arrives, you know who is driving, the transporter registration, the collection window in hours, the planned route in outline and the expected handover window at the destination. Where the destination is gated, restricted or on a narrow street, we have planned around it at quote stage. The address you give us at the destination is the address the vehicle is delivered to — not a depot nearby, not a port-side holding bay.
Door-to-door is bundled with the transport mode. It is not an add-on, not an upsell and not a premium tier. The same applies to the photographic inspection at collection and handover, the live GPS tracking link, the named co-ordinator on the file and the cleared customs paperwork on international moves. None of those are priced as extras. They are the base service.
- Door-to-door is the operational standard — bundled with every enclosed shipment
- No driving to a depot, no collecting from a port, no terminal handovers
- Collection from any mainland UK address — private, dealer, workshop, storage
- Delivery to residence, hotel, villa, marina, factory bay or concours field
- Concierge handover available where the client is not at the destination
- Co-ordinated arrival window agreed at quote stage, confirmed the day before

Bundled with the transport mode, not an add-on
Door-to-door is included on every shipment
Whether the booking is single-vehicle enclosed haulage to the Côte d’Azur, a multi-vehicle move to Marbella or an enclosed container to the USA, collection from a UK address and delivery to a destination address is bundled into the quote. There is no separate door-to-door line item to add or remove.
Priced per job, single or multi-vehicle
We do not publish a rate card for door-to-door enclosed haulage to the Mediterranean coast. Every quote is calculated against the vehicle, the collection point, the destination, the season and any restricted-access requirements. Use our transport quotes page for the details we need, or request a bespoke quote and we will return within 24 hours.
Door-to-door car delivery — your questions
It means the vehicle is collected from the address you nominate at the UK end and delivered to the address you nominate at the destination end — with no obligation on your part to drive the car to a depot, a terminal or a port, and no obligation to collect it from one at the other end. Every shipment ICM runs is door-to-door by default. That is in deliberate contrast to roll-on roll-off ferry services, terminal-to-terminal logistics and depot-to-depot trade movements, where the client handles the first and last leg themselves. The collection address can be a private garage, a residence, a workshop, a dealer compound, a detailing studio, a concours preparation unit or a secure storage facility. The delivery address can be a residence anywhere in the UK, the EU or the USA, a hotel forecourt, a villa driveway, a marina quayside, a factory service bay or a concours show field.
Any mainland UK address with reasonable access for a covered transporter. Private garages, residential driveways, workshop forecourts, dealer compounds, detailing studios, marque-specialist units, auction houses, secure storage facilities and rural residences are all standard. Where the collection address is a narrow residential street, a multi-storey car park, a gated estate or anywhere with a height or width restriction, we flag it at quote stage and either confirm access is workable or arrange a short transfer to an accessible loading point nearby. We do not ask you to bring the car to us; we come to where the car is. The Northern Isles, the Western Isles, the Outer Hebrides and offshore islands require additional ferry co-ordination, which we handle as part of the brief.
Yes. Hotel deliveries are routine on the Croisette in Cannes, the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, the Boulevard des Moulins in Monte-Carlo, in Marbella, Puerto Banús and Mallorca's Port Adriano. We co-ordinate the arrival window with the hotel valet or concierge ahead of the day so the trailer is not blocking the forecourt and the handover does not interrupt other arrivals. Villa deliveries — to gated estates, hillside residences, private compounds — are equally standard, with access codes and the named gate contact arranged at quote stage. Marina deliveries to Port Hercule, Port Adriano, Puerto Portals, Marina di Portofino and similar are co-ordinated where the vehicle needs to meet a yacht or transfer to a tender. The trailer arrives at the quayside, not the port gate.
We hand the vehicle over to a nominated representative — a concierge, a household manager, a personal assistant, a marque-specialist contact, a family member or a trusted colleague named ahead of arrival. The handover inspection is completed with them, every panel is photographed, the keys are formally transferred and the full pack is emailed to you the same day. Many of our Mediterranean deliveries are handover-to-representative because the client is flying in a day or two later — that is the normal pattern, not the exception. We do not leave a car unattended and we do not post keys through a letterbox. There is always a named individual on the other end of the handover.
No. Door-to-door is the operational standard at ICM — it is bundled with every enclosed shipment and not priced as an add-on. Depot-to-depot, terminal-to-terminal and port-to-port handovers are common in the high-volume shipping industry because they save the carrier time on the first and last legs, but they push the work onto the client. We do not run that model. The quote you receive covers collection from your chosen UK address, enclosed haulage, customs (where international) and delivery to your chosen destination address. Where a destination is exceptional — restricted access, out-of-hours, gated community with security clearance, narrow-street transfer — that is occasionally noted as a separate line on the quote, but standard door-to-door delivery is included.

Pre-purchase vehicle assessment
If you are buying a car you have not seen in person, we can provide photographs, video and a video call to show you the vehicle before collection. This lets you discuss its visible condition before arranging delivery.
Ask for this assessment when discussing the purchase and collection. It is separate from the condition record made when we load the car; it should not be treated as a mechanical inspection.
Ready to book a door-to-door delivery?
Tell us the vehicle, the collection address and the destination address. A specialist will return with a written quote covering door-to-door enclosed haulage, customs (where international) and the agreed handover arrangement, normally the same day.
Regular door-to-door routes
The Mediterranean coast accounts for most of our door-to-door traffic, where the contrast between “collect from the port” and “trailer arrives at the apartment garage” is sharpest — including the specialist route to Monaco and Marbella.
