About ICM

International Car Movements (“ICM”, “we”, “us”) is a UK-based specialist vehicle shipping business. Our registered office is CRG House, Cobden Street, Salford, Greater Manchester M6 6NA.

International Car Movements is a trading name of Manchester Car Movements Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 11311247.

These terms apply to all quotes, bookings and shipments arranged through this website or directly with our team. If you are contracting with us on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to do so.

The services we provide

ICM provides bespoke door-to-door vehicle transport services, principally for luxury and supercar owners shipping vehicles between the United Kingdom and the Mediterranean, wider Europe and the United States. Our services include:

  • Road transport on our own enclosed and open transporters
  • Sea freight by container and by Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo)
  • Single-vehicle enclosed haulage for supercars, classics and concours-spec vehicles
  • Multi-vehicle transporter work for collections, dealer moves and event fleets
  • Customs clearance for temporary and permanent import or export, plus ATA and TIR Carnets
  • Adjacent storage on request

The specific service, route and inclusions for your shipment will be set out in your written quote.

Quotes

Quotes are provided in good faith based on the information you give us. A quote is an indicative offer; it is not a binding contract until we accept your booking in writing (by email is sufficient).

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated. If material details change after we issue a quote — for example, the vehicle, the collection or delivery address, the dates, the route, the value for insurance, customs requirements, fuel surcharges or applicable taxes — we may revise the quote before accepting the booking.

Quotes are denominated in pounds sterling (£ GBP) and exclude VAT unless we state otherwise. VAT will be added at the prevailing UK rate where applicable.

Pricing and payment

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, our standard payment terms are:

  • A deposit on booking confirmation, to reserve the transporter and the routing slot. The amount is set out on your quote.
  • The balance payable on collection of the vehicle, prior to dispatch.
  • Customs duties, taxes and any third-party port charges are payable in addition to the quoted price and at cost.

Payment is by bank transfer to the account stated on our invoice. We may, at our discretion, decline to dispatch a vehicle until cleared funds are received.

Late payment may incur interest at the statutory rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 for business clients.

Liability and insurance

Vehicles in our care are insured up to the cover limit on your quote as standard. Higher cover can be arranged in writing prior to collection on a per-shipment basis at additional cost.

Full policy details, including the underwriter and the cover limit that applies to your shipment, are available on request and are confirmed on your quote.

Cover applies from the point of collection until hand-over at the destination, subject to the conditions of the policy. A walk-around inspection and photographic record is completed at collection and hand-over; any discrepancy must be raised at hand-over or, at the latest, in writing within 48 hours.

Save for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law, our liability under or in connection with a shipment is limited to the amount recoverable under the applicable insurance policy.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of use, loss of contract, or loss arising from events outside our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to: severe weather, port closures, strikes, regulatory delay, customs delay, war, civil unrest or pandemic.

Vehicles must be tendered in roadworthy, drivable condition with no more than a quarter tank of fuel, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing for non-runners. Personal effects must not be left in the vehicle unless explicitly agreed; we cannot accept liability for personal items in transit.

Cancellation

You may cancel a booking by giving us written notice. Our standard cancellation terms are:

  • More than 14 days before the agreed collection date: deposit refunded in full, less any unrecoverable third-party costs already incurred (such as ferry bookings or customs filings).
  • Between 7 and 14 days before collection: 50% of the deposit is retained to cover scheduling and routing costs.
  • Less than 7 days before collection: the full deposit is retained.
  • After the transporter has been dispatched to collect: the full quoted price is payable.

We may cancel a booking, refund any deposit paid and walk away from a shipment if we discover the vehicle has been misdescribed, the paperwork is incomplete, the vehicle is subject to a finance or theft marker we were not made aware of, or the shipment would put us in breach of sanctions or applicable law.

Consumer rights

Where you are a consumer (acting outside the course of a business), nothing in these terms limits or excludes your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

For business clients (B2B), the terms set out on this page apply in full and override any terms or purchase order conditions you may attempt to incorporate.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or a shipment is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales sitting in Manchester.
